The rare feat of adding a fully new chapter to the big book of watch design was achieved in the middle of the 1990s by the Xemex brand. Literally, right from the beginning in 1996, Xemex's hands have permanently been set to success. From its modest beginnings as an insider tip for watch lovers, it has developed into a watch brand with Swiss tradition and
unmistakable design in justa short amount of time, successfully creating a place for itself on the market. The unique, clean shapes of all of the brand's timekeepers are created in-house and embody pure perfection and harmony down to the smallest detail according to the motto "power of simplicity."
Watches of this name have steel cases with movable strap lugs, and that is only one of the special features. All of the watches have black or white dials with clear minute and hour markers and very conspicuous hands. These are characteristics that don't change Ruedi Kulling's
fundamental concept of "simplify, objectify, clarify." They support it. As they should, for Ruedi Kulling, who made the original sketches, is someone who can look back on more than forty years of successful work in the field of design. His artistic signature places him as a contemporary representative of the beginning of the German Bauhaus movement, although he is often - usually out of sheer frustration - named with the group "form follows function." The brand's actual creative concern placed more emphasis on developing an alternative without just creating a fashion gag, to create a timeless counterpart to more traditional watch forms.
