Muhle Wristwatches

Muhle GmbH in Glashutte is a brand that is characterized by a highly unique developmental history. One hundred fifty years ago, the town of Glashutte enjoyed a far-reaching reputation as a watch city. But before perfect watch technology was developed, the production of precision had to be measured: Since 1869 Robert Muhle & Sons supplied the indigenous industry and watchmakers with gauges - for ascertaining the width of toothed wheels, for example. Alongside these instruments for watchmakers, Muhle also produced revolution counters, other technical gauges, and later clocks and tachometers for automobiles, i.e. for Horch's automobiles in the 1930s. Hans Muhle, grandson of the company founder, established his own company in December 1945. After the German reunification, Hans¬Jurgen Muhle, great-grandson of the original founder, started the third company bearing the name of Muhle in 1994: Muhle Glashutte GmbH Nautische Instrumente & Feinmechanik. Since then, marine chronometers with quartz technology and marine clock systems have been produced. In 1996 the company's first wristwatch was manufactured. In the meantime, wristwatches per year. I n keeping with Glashutte tradition, the quality of the prod ucts is especially important. Thus the cases of various Muhle wristwatches are manufactured by Glashutte case specialist SUG. In addition, cost-effectiveness must be correctly proportioned: Muhle watches from Glashutte must be reasonable. This is made possible by reliable and robust mechanical ETA movements that are finely regulated in five positions at Muhle to ensure a precise rate. For specialized Muhle complications, the movements are altered by module technology. Wristwatches by Muhle - a good number of them are outfitted with a transparent case back - can be recognized in the future by an exclusive rotor that will be manufactured on-premises. Precision and tradition harmonize well with the company name Nautische Instrumente (nautical instruments). Watches for professional use include the A.T.P. One model featuring an altimeter to 9,995 meters, barometer, and perpetual calendar as well as the SA R. Rescue Timer model. This especially robust automatic watch with a 4-mm thick sapphire crystal and exceptional legibility at night is the official timer on fifty-six rescue cruisers of the DGzRS (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schlffbruchiger or the German Sea Rescue Service). This watch will also survive anything that a person can under extreme conditions. For fans of especially sporty visuals, this model has evolved into the Nautic Timer, a divers-style timepiece. And aviation fans were not forgotten by the company: In addition to the classic Cockpit Timer, the Global Timer will be launched this year, a model that was developed in close cooperation with the chief pilot of Lufthansa Cargo. This world time chronograph with 24- hour display has been dedicated to cargo airplane MD 11 and is limited to 1,111 pieces.
