Marcello C. Watches

Regardless of what the retail watch business in general and the seller of luxury objects such as jewelry in particular have to say about the sales figures of the last year, the Marcello C. watch brand is happy to report an increase in business in the last few years that larger, more established brands with quite different price policies can only dream of. In Marcello C's case it may be because the consumer has rightfully won the impression that he or she needs to receive something real in exchange for hard-earned money, no longer paying any price for a melodious name.

Marcell Kainz has realized his life's dream with the advent of his own watch brand. This fan of traditional Swiss mechanical watchmaking, who became involved with the industry only just before entering it professionally, has made magic by adding a great amount of enthusiasm and many late hours. Within just a few years he has managed to pull a remarkable collection of mechanical watches out of his hat like a rabbit. Watch fans with a feel for a healthy relationship between price and performance have been more than appreciative of this.

This friendly German goes shopping only at the best addresses in Switzerland where he has movements, cases, crystals, and dials assembled according to his wishes at small, special workshops. Together with his charming wife Uschi and just a few employees, the active entrepreneur has established himself in the hotly contested lower and middle price classes in Europe, utilizing an unbelievable amount of personal commitment.

He could have used his first name, Marcell, as the basis for creating a melodious French¬sounding name for his brand, but since Kainz is very a sing-song "Marcello," taking into consideration that most of the rest of the world would mispronounce it anyway (mar-chel-Io is the correct pronunciation). However, it seems to be Kainz's motto to speak less with his brand name than with his products anyway.

His current collection is clearly dominated by men's timepieces, and puts decided emphasis on sporty automatic watches and chronographs. The line of pilot's timepieces leads smoothly into a small collection of diver's watches with rotating bezels and screwed-in operational elements. Stylistically, it is surely not an accident that some of these watches' appearances remind one of great classics of the watch scene. This year the brand has a special reason to celebrate: Alongside the company's economic success, Uschi and Marcell Kainz are pleased to announce the tenth anniversary of their "Italian" watch brand from the Rhine.
