| Locman Watches |
There is no one who does not have an opinion regarding these watches they are far too large, too colorful, and too blatantly obvious for that. Almost a caricature, the exaggerated cases, hands, and numerals magically draw one's gaze to the domed crystals distorting them. The next gaze goes up to the face of the person who would wear a timepiece
such as this.
Courage in choosing size, shape, color, and quality has been rewarded, and since appearing on television three years ago, Locman's watches have become a regular sight on the streets of Italy's cities. Italian president Silvio Berlusconi is said to have a cache of them at home, functioning as gifts for personal and political visitors as well as small incentives for deserving party colleagues. Even prominent
Americans, stars such as Madonna, Jennifer
Lopez, and Tom Cruise, are also wearing these" crazy Italian watches." It won't be long until the rest of the world is following these trendsetters.
In the meantime, this brand has shown an increased turnover rate of 24,000 percent (!) in only five years, writing its own chapter in Italian economic history.
One of Locman's founders, Marco Mantovani, today chief shareholder and delegated
member of the board, still
remembers the time back in his little atelier on the island of Elba when he had no idea where he would get the money to buy his next sheaf of drawing paper. Since the Italian investor group Hopa hopped on board in 1999, this is no longer a worry.
