Watches by Urban Jurgensen & Sonner are backed by more than two hundred years of watchmaking tradition. Since the company was founded in 1773, knowledge and experience have been passed on from generation to generation, and the construction of mechanical watch movements has developed into an art form.
In the eighteenth century, Urban Jurgensen manufactured precision timekeepers for seafarers and astronomers. The beauty and precision of his watches were the foundation on which his reputation as an outstanding expert in his field was built. King Frederik VI of Denmark appointed him official supplier to the Danish court, and the Danish Admiralty appointed him marine watchmaker to the Royal Navy.
Today, a small group of highly qualified watchmakers in Switzerland are preserving the image and tradition of what was once the greatest name in precision watchmaking. The new brand, Urban Jurgensen & Sonner, produces very small editions or individual complicated watches in a classical style of eternal beauty and unsurpassed quality. Three different workshops exclusively produce mechanical timekeepers, starting from the complete design of the movement, the solid precious-metal cases, and hand-guilloche dials and ending with the hands manufactured by hand in a truly anachronistic way from gold bars. Urban Jurgensen & Sonner products certainly live up to the name and the tradition of the company.

| The small range of models encompasses wristwatches of which most have perpetual calendars (a specialty of the company) and can be equipped with either normal or split-seconds chronographs as well as particularly melodious and sophisticated minute repeaters. A further specialty of Urban Jurgensen & Sonner is the one-minute tourbillon, which has been developed to perfection under the expert hands of the master watchmakers.
Upon special customer request, Urban Jurgensen & Sonner also manufactures highquality, customized wristwatches and, in particular, pocket watches. Tourbillons, minute repeaters, perpetual calendars, jump hours the client can have virtually anything he desires. If his wallet allows.
