Jaeger-LeCoultre Watches |
Jaeger-LeCoultre's name is one that should never be omitted from the list of classic, true watch manufactures. The company, located in the "watch valley" Vallee de Joux's Le Sentier, is not only known to the connoisseur as a producer of the finest timepieces manufactured according to traditional methods, it has also discreetly supplied other reputable watch manufacturers with quality movements for decades.
During the last few years, and above all since the sale of the brand to the Richemont luxury group, Jaeger-LeCoultre has concentrated strongly on making its high technical competence recognizable for the consumer. At the same time, the company has restricted its supply of movements to competitors outside of the Richemont concern more and more.
The design of new or strongly altered watch movements in past years has above all benefited the most well-known product made by JaegerLeCoultre: the Reverso model family. Although the manufacture generates the lion's share of its turnover with this line, it reflects only a part of the company's horological competence.

For other equally demanding models, the company relies on trustworthy, mature watch movements such as Caliber 889/2 and the smaller Caliber 960, for example, with which
the Master model family is outfitted. The watches in this family are put through exhaustive testing of 1,000 hours before they leave the factory, which, although invisible to the purchaser, is documented by the signature of the watchmaker in charge on the inside of the case back.
Alongside this autograph, the flank of the Master Antoine LeCoultre model's platinum case, presented at the S.I.H.H. 2003, also bears the signature of the company's founder, born two centuries ago. For this reason the production of this timepiece, whose traditionally designed dial features a large date, power reserve display, and day/night indicator, has been limited to exactly 200 pieces.
With the Joaillerie Riviere 101 a timepiece was presented that will certainly fascinate both men interested in technology and women who enjoy fine, delicate jewelry watches: In a tiny case, held to the wrist by a doubled stranded band of leather or white gold, there ticks the smallest mechanical movement ever created. Caliber LeCoultre 101, weighing a mere gram, was first constructed in 1929 and comprises 98 individual components.
