Jacques Etoile Watch

Master watchmaker Klaus Jakob's heart beats for vintage traditions - and vintage movements that are no longer produced. This tireless collector somehow always manages to unearth old hand-assembled calibers or perhaps only parts of them on remote dusty shelves or in some forgotten box on his extensive travels through the Swiss watchmaking countryside. Then he lovingly reworks and places them in attractive, classic cases. Thanks to a respectable pricing policy, these limited editions of exceptional watches are snapped up immediately by interested buyers. In the last few years Klaus Jakob has established himself as one of the leading specialists in the working and finishing of the legendary columnwheel chronograph movement caliber Venus 175, causing a loyal following to flock about his company. The technical beauty and the spectacular finish of his Venus movements hold a special place of honor in collectors circles. Jakob also has somewhat of a monopoly on the use of the Unitas caliber 6300, no longer in production. Outside of Jacques Etoile, there is no other company with watches in their program utilizing this movement, although it has proved its qualities thousands of times over. After Jakob's finishing touches, the movement appears in a splendor that the original watchmakers of the Unitas movement manufacture could probably only have dreamed of. Jacques Etoile's clientele has always been very receptive to special things, and for that reason the special constructions in the contemporary models and patented construction plans have begun to playa much larger role. Klaus Jakob has, for example, access to an exclusive tonneau-shaped hand-wound movement on the basis of an existing gear train that is enriched by many additional complications in the Jaquet workshops of Switzerland.

The industrious watchmaker also invests well in the "packaging" of his ticking jewels. In the meantime, all of the cases used on Jacques Etoile watches come from the Sachsische Uhrgehause-Manufaktur GlashOtte (Saxon Watch Case Manufacture GlashOtte) and are remarkable in their excellent craftsmanship and brilliant surface finish. Most of the chronograph models with round cases are manufactured according to a clever modular construction system that makes changing the bezel - even after the fact - possible. In addition, the interested party has a wide assortment of stylistically matching dials to choose from. Although it may be hard to choose, it certainly is a pleasant choice to have to make!
