The perfect production of highly complicated watches has a more than 150year-old tradition at the Glashutte Original manufacture. Since the founding of the first Glashutte watch factory by watchmaker to royalty F. A. Lange in December 1845, this little town located in the picturesque Muglitz Valley has developed into the center of German watchmaking. The precision watches by Assmann, Lange and Helwig made Glashutte watch companies renowned far beyond the borders of Germany.
Since that time, quality, precision, and functionality have been the characteristics of fine German watchmaking that have prevailed until today as embodied in the precision movements by Glashutte Original.
With an impressive depth of production, this manufacture so rich in tradition is especially suited to carry the predicate" made in Germany." Not only are all movements developed and designed on premises, but from the smallest screw to the most complicated caliber, all of the parts are produced on premises as well.

The most modern technologies are used where precision and functionality are called for. In the spirit of the tradition they represent, the tiny components are finely completed and decorated by hand according to processes that have been handed down through generations. Even the outer appearance of mechanical timekeepers made by Glashutte Original communicate a "practical luxury" in form and design as it is traditionally practiced in Germany: not superficial, but substantial.
Against this background so rich in tradition, extremely modern watches like the PanoMatic, the new automatic line of the PanoDate edition, are created. The PanoMaticDate demonstrates subtle understatement. No additional function distracts from the concise optics of the offcenter hour and minute displays with subsidiary seconds and the striking panorama large date. The PanoMaticLunar presents a moon phase display above the panorama date.
The newly developed movement Caliber 90 underlines the characteristic asymmetrical visuc. of the dial. The winding rotor has also been ' arranged off-center. Finely skeletonized, it lifts' itself above the traditional three-quarter plate i and runs its laps with an oscillating weight of 21-karat rose gold on a specially milled track within the automatic bridge. Outfitted with all of the attributes of fine Glashutte watchmaking this masterpiece of a caliber is perfectly decorated with hand engraving on the cocks and bridges as well as fine beveling and other decorated parts.
