Moving in and opening the new manufacture building in upper La Chaux-de-Fonds fulfills a longentertained dream for the president of the SoWind Group and GP captain Dr. Luigi Macaluso. In 1992 the engineer took over the somewhat dusty traditional brand, and as fast as you can say tourbillon made it into one of the leading watch manufactures for complicated timepieces. The brand already had the prerequisites for it: a more than 200-year-old history rich in records and spectacular designs, and spatial conditions that weren't all that bad.
But it was only through the systematic acquisition of property and empty buildings around the main factory located on Place Girardet that it became possible to cleanly separate production workshops, representation space, and management offices for the two
watch brands Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard from each other while keeping them connected by short pathways. Villa JeanRichard and its museum for tools and tooling machines is located just a few steps away from the GirardPerregaux Museum within Villa Marguerite, and in between them the main factory and manufacturing buildings pretty much take up the rest of the block

Girard-Perregaux has exhibited at the Richemont group's Genevan watch salon S.I.H.H. since 1999. The brand's amicable cooperation with the giants of the luxury industry goes far beyond the typical roles of supplier/buyer, however, even though the development of workable buyer structures for the manufacture's products, such as the GP automatic calibers 3000 and 3001 and the little chronograph movement that utilizes a column wheel to steer the timing functions, plays a role that is important to the survival of this "unblocked" manufacture.
New editions of the legendary tourbillon models with gold bridges, enchanting minute repeaters and chronograph specialties ensure that this company will retain its prominent position among the genuine Swiss manufactures.
The rectangular collection Vintage 1945 has developed into a true bestseller and is added onto every year with new variations. In
addition, the Sea Hawk represents another new diver's watch creation whose name is oriented
upon a GP model from the past. This watch, however, has nothing in common with the model of the same name from the 1960s. Not only is the case with the screwed-in crown at 4 o'clock protected by special new flanks, so is the fact that it is outfitted with one of the company's own manufacture movements. Girard-Perregaux's ties to the Italian race and sports car manufacturer Ferrari has borne the fruit of an annual limited chronograph edition to honor the championships won by the noble marque. And as long as the red racers continue winning on the racetracks of this world, this will certainly not change
