The origins of the Davosa brand can be traced back to the year 1861 when the farmer Abel Frederic Hasler began manufacturing silver cases for pocket watches in the long winter months in his hometown of Tramelan in the Swiss Jura. Two of his brothers found their way to the big city and opened a watch factory in Geneva. A third brother moved to Biel and also began to work in the watch industry. The next Hasler generation was completely involved in the watch industry, and it was above all Paul Hasler who excelled with a flourishing assembly and finishing workshop
that was able to call the biggest and most noted brands its customers. Paul and his brother David, who had meanwhile joined him, began making their own watches after World War II, even though the name Hasler & Co. showed up only on the mail and overseas packages that left the small company. As modest private-label manufacturers, the Haslers let their customers in Europe and the United States garner the laurels.
Only in 1987 did they develop their own collection and distribute it under the name Davosa. Today's success in the trade and a most
impressive model palette, especially in the area of mechanical watches, confirm the brothers' courageous decision.
Picking up where the first limited (and already sold out) series Panamericana left off, Davosa is launching a new 400-piece limited series, the Centum Edition. Premiered on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first motorized flight in December 2003, this series pays homage to the
pioneers and organizations that have been so important in the history of aviation.

Correspondingly, the chronograph is not only outfitted with a finely finished ETA Caliber 7750 featuring cotes circulaires, circular graining, and blued screws, it also includes the most important characteristics of a pilot's watch. It shines with great legibility (even at night thanks to the luminous substance Superluminova) and robust equipment such as a
polished stainless steel case, scratch proof sapphire crystal, tested water-resistance of 100m, screwed-down case back and a durable leather strap. The serially numbered watch of the Centum Edition comes with a certificate of limitation and a model airplane in a scale of 1 :250 in a high-quality, genuine wood box.
