Carlos A. Rosillo was well aware of the risks of an entrepreneurial solo run, particularly since he had a clear idea of what "his" watch collection should be: The best materials, high-quality workmanship, and unconditional reliability and precision pretty much outlined Bell & Ross's fundamentals, and nothing less would do for the brand with the stylized ampersand (&) as its trademark. The short English-sounding name perfectly expressed the professional, instrument-like character of the watches that had until then existed only in technical drawings. It was not Rosillo's intention to revolutionize the watch world. His goal was perfection.
Bell & Ross has managed to get a foot in the door of the crowded, mid-priced sporty steel watch market in a relatively short amount of time. In the meantime, the brand has become more successful than it could ever have dreamed at the time of its market introduction back in the 1990s.
In just a few short years the brand has been successful in setting up an individualistic image and creating an independent product palette
that contains both mechanical and quartz timepieces co-existing peacefully side by side.
The watches are available with dials that are mostly designed in black or a specific color of beige that Bell & Ross practically invented, forming a charming complement to the unimaginative, technical supply of "instrument watches" that are available today.

The product line Vintage is oriented on the shape of a chronograph that might have been current at the beginning of the 1960s. The company's newest products include a chronograph and a three-hand watch that feature dials and wide leather straps in the olive green so popular on military vehicles. They are
christened with the fitting name Military. Almost as a counterpoint, the company has also developed the elegant Jumping Hour and Big Date models, showing the depth of the today's collection, although the brand's original design
characteristics are always visible. |
